Requirements: A minimum of 2 years related experience is required, preferably in meat/poultry industry, as are excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently. Hands on experience with TQM, lean manufacturing or six sigma techniques / applications is a plus.
Responsibilities: A challenging opportunity for a Quality Assurance Supervisor (weekends) at our Bridgewater, VA further processing facility. The QA Supervisor provides leadership and direction to ensure that required food safety and regulatory processes and procedures are adhered to, as well as the further development of our QA associates. The QA Supervisor is also responsible for establishing an open and positive working relationship with operations and serves as a primary liaison with on-site USDA personnel.

Strong knowledge of ISO quality management systems, HACCP, and statistical process control is required. Knowledge of Regulatory Agencies i.e. USDA, FDA etc. is required. Responsibilities: Individual will manage all Plant Quality Control activities to assure compliance with both company and regulatory requirements. Responsible for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Good Sanitation Practices (GSP’s), Quality of conformity, and quality of services. Inspect and audit the operation in all phases of quality performance. Will represent the plant during inspections and audits with customers, third party and regulatory agencies.

Requirements: Bachelors degree (preferred) and/or 3-5 years related experience. Must be able to stand on feet for entire shift. Must be able to work any hours as needed. Will work primarily second shift. Individual should have a strong understanding of quality requirements within the poultry industry. Previous experience working with USDA is desirable. Individual should have strong written and verbal communications skills and be able to interact at various levels including with plant personnel and customers.
Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include:
• Communicates with production personnel and USDA staff to accomplish desired product quality.
• Checks to ensure all inspections are done as required.
• Verifies control charts and inspection findings.
• Completes all paperwork in accordance with established time frames or record keeping requirements.
• Assures all responsibilities are performed in a manner which meets or exceeds all line, department, facility, company, customer and U.S.D.A. guidelines or grading process.
• Meets safety requirements in accomplishing responsibilities of this position complying with all policies or regulations set forth by the company or various government agencies concerning safety, environment, vehicles, handling of food products, packaging, ingredients and any related items.

Requirements: B.S. in Food Science or related plus 7-10 years beverage/food manufacturing experience is required. Masters degree preferred. Specific requirements include:
• Willingness to travel 20-25% of the time (This position will be required to provide quality support to facilities in Michigan and New York.)
• Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodology and implementation experience
• HACCP knowledge and strong statistical quality background
• CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) preferred
• Oracle/ERP systems knowledge preferred
• Strong understanding of statistics in problem solving, process capability analysis and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities: Individual will manage quality assurance and sanitation staff, procedures and principles at multiple plant locations. Specific responsibilities include:
• Establish, implement, and assure compliance with company and regulatory quality assurance standards and procedures.
• Supervise and train the plant quality assurance staff to accomplish established objectives, standards and procedures. Ensure that plant and Company quality assurance standards and procedures are properly communicated to all plant management, supervisors and hourly employees.
• Determine by inspection and audit that established procedures are used in processing and packaging and in the cleaning and sterilization of plant equipment. Take necessary corrective action when required and communicate with plant supervision concerning the corrective action taken or which must be taken.
• Assure that proper techniques are used to prevent spoilage or damage to raw products and processed materials in refrigerated storage and packed products in the warehouse. Assist in planning for the transfer and storage of inbound processed materials.
• Administer the release of approved products to the Shipping Department and furnish other related direction as needed.
• Assure that seasonal operations are conducted in accordance with Company quality procedures. Work with the USDA Fruit Inspection Service.
• Originate and assist in the development of technical information for the improvement of quality assurance and processing and production techniques.
• Analyze customer complaints pertaining to the products originating from the plant and take steps necessary to correct the offending situations.
• Develop and achieve the annual operating budget pertaining to the plant quality control function.

Quality Assurance Technologist
Various Mid-west locations
Requirements: BS in Food Science, Micro, or Chemistry plus knowledge of QA principles.
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for:
• monitoring the quality of product during manufacture, auditing, and as needed, inspecting process control points. This involves recognizing, trouble-shooting and resolving non-compliant product or situations through interaction with Production personnel/Employee Involvement Teams and/or USDA.
• providing proactive technical support and training for Production personnel/Employee Involvement Teams to maintain the quality system and to ensure a high degree of compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• skills development of Production personnel in general audit requirements, recipe procedures, GMP's, bacteriological controls, sanitation/equipment inspection, PQC, QMS, SPC, SSOP and HACCP techniques
• establishing, maintaining, and promoting good communications/rapport with all departments, levels of management, and USDA. Includes liaison with USDA QCI to manage daily regulatory activities.
• recording, maintaining and following up on all USDA NR's issued to the plant.
• maintaining a thorough knowledge of all quality systems, programs and regulatory requirements and educating Manufacturing personnel
• involvement in the review and revision process to maintain the following control programs: TQC, HACCP, QMS, SPC, SSOP, and applicable DQA Policies/Procedures.
• understanding and interpreting SPC data and rules
• rejection or retention of substandard raw materials, in-process components, packaging materials, equipment and finished product which exceed acceptance criteria and coordination of corrective actions.
